Well....

No doubt me rambling about my past few weeks, when I haven't written anything worthwhile for ages (more like ever), will not be very interesting, but hey you suckers have started and will now feel obliged to continue reading till the end of this incoherent waste of time in a vain hope that there might actually be something GOOD in here :o

I have been in quite a dilemma these past few weeks as my brain has turned to mush a few weeks to early resulting in a terrible incapability to study D :
I have a speech and assignment (from last term ...) left to do and if there is a god he will smite me now to save me from my terrible pending fate.

This week in particular has seen the close of one of my all time favourite shows / one of the only GOOD shows on television, rove live :<
One day I really must go back and watch all the original no longer live shows of rove that aired in a time when backstreet boys were still semi cool and I occasionally still wet myself. Though my watching has only been erratic for the past 4 years it feels oh so bizarre that it has come to close, I must say, towards the end though some parts were ok it started to get a bit stale like bread microwaved for too long.

On a bright note I leave for Korea in 10 almost 9 days. Fucking excited maybe when I'm over there I will actually have something GOOD to write about :o

(Lol notice how the only word I will write in all capitals is GOOD? Fail.)

Fuck this I'm going to bed.
See there wasn't anything good in this pointless garbled ramble which sounds somewhat like a bum on the street / an abbo (wait they're pretty much the same thing) asking you for a "durry mate", the only difference would be that the interaction with a reeking hairy filthy hobo who looks like he might roll you would be far more amusing than this diarrhea of words shaped into something that's meant to resemble a blog.
Over and out >.>

J-Rock vs. Emo - The Ultimate Show Down

Firstly, lets clarify, J-rock with everything like visual kei included and emo with screamo, hardcore etc.
When I refer to those main two unless otherwise stated I mean all sub-categories in a whole :3
And lets not get picky about hardcore not being emo etc, etc, to
me it all comes from emo and has got the same characteristics as it and most of them it's a fine line between.

Ok! On face value, both lots of music are pretty much the same.
With the exception of, ones in english, ones in japanese.
They sound pretty similar and look fairly similar.
In look comparison I decided to use for the english bands, My
Chemical Romance and The Fall Of Troy.
Japanese bands I used Antic Cafe, Abingdon Boys School and The Gaze
ttes
I picked these five bands, particularily My Chem, An Cafe and ABS because they showed the comparison of image the best.

Firstly! Casual.
Above ^ Fall Of Troy. Below \/ An Cafe.
Fair eough AC's style is a bit more funky than the boys above tees and hodies but in the rough comparison of the two, not much differnce, tees, jackets and casual pants. I would have made a better comparison if i could have been bothers to find a better pic ^.^
Continuing, on rough face value, not much difference, both take good care in their hair and have a casual rockish look to them
Though looking closer there is the much closer attention to detail in An Cafe's appearance then those of above.
Partly due to the nature of their sub-category of being Vis Kei.
Thus the difference in their appearance.
VERDICT: Visual Kei is far more interesting to look at, and even thought casual has more style ^.^

Second! Fancy Dress
Both bands (above MCR ^ below An Cafe \/) have this semi gothic look about them and fit in well with the other band members, though, My Chem has more consistency in the outfits.
Once again, you could easily chuck both bands into the same boat, but that would be doing the later injustice.
Not only do they (AC) have a cross dresser in the band (gotta love Bou, I miss him *insert sad face here* ), but they have far more creativity and induviduality.
MCR on the other hand, have a cliched emo look about them.
VERDICT: Vis Kei, IS indivual, emo, follows trends. Though one could say vis kei is a style to which many follow, it's point is utter randomnes within certain boundries, though they're still to be discovered.

Third! Promo time :3

Fair enough, 90% of shots of bands are for magazines, posters, album art, etc, but lets look at the layout and appearance of the two (upper MCR, lower The Gazettes).
MCR, as you see in just about every photo of them, has three layers, singer at front, the two more attractive guys second and the "ugly" ones at the back. Now I will not deny that the frontman is 99% of the time in the middle/front regardless of what ever band, though, excluding a band like Fall Out Boy, who has the most attractive of the unattractive at the front instead of the singer.
Though I must add on that point, it goes to prove how petty emo bands can be, trying to sell on appearance to the scene girls more than how good their music is.
Anyway, TG on the other hand has the members equally standing side by side.
My Chems once again uniform cliched appearance is the focus in their dress, all standing in ways to try to be more manly and appealing, (though failling I must add).
TG on the other hand, seem more natural, and though appearing far more feminine have a somewhat manly sense to them than the above. They do not need to try to be so, they just are.
Though both dressed up, TG does not seem dressed up for a purpose, it comes across as how they are, with MCR on the other hand, has a fake put on look.
VERDICT: Vis kei, wins another round. Vis kei's style and induivuality is natural and has a genuine feeling to it, emo is too much of a manafactured, put on look.

Fourth yay! Uniform.

Considering MCR (above) is so familiar to this forte, one would assume they'd win a point for emo over ABS (below).
Weeelllll.... Lets compare! Both bands have extremely matching outfits.
Difference of the two though... My Chem, the outfit is merely for show. ABS, its the whole image of their band, it fits with their name and gives them character unlike MCR who only does it to look cool (though failing).
VERDICT:Once again, Vis Kei wins hands down, likewise said before, the feeling you get from vis kei is more genuine, plus it has more style. The "uniform" look is consistent unlike My Chem, who swaps and changes to suit the audience.

Ok, so we've made comparisons in the overall look. Now lets check out the music, which in the end, MAKES the band.

Though there are many similar aspects of between the music, and judging on face value they're pretty much the same.
With all modern music, regardless of language, it will be similar to another style, in another language.
J-rock though, has something more. Vis Kei for instance, is only drawn together by the dress, and that even varies. The music itself ranges widely, and even though the band may dress loligoth, they might make slow romantic music,
J-rock, is far more experimental and funky, unlike emo that all seems to be kept to a strict genre,
All the music that comes out from emo and it's sub-genres, are all so similar, you listen to Hawthorne Heights then From First to Last, then you go to AFI and The Used.
Yes, they ARE different, but only marginally, the all sing about the same things, use the same riffs and beats.
J-rock also has far more interesting lyrics, it's not the same stuff emo spits out all the time.
The manner in which J-rock songs are written are far more interesting and creative, they aren't blatant and cliche, like emo.
Take for instance one of the most famous emo lines, "So cut my wrists and black my eyes, so I can fall asleep tonight."
I'm sure you know a lot of the song yourself and can relate to the lameness of it.

Ahhh... I'm getting sidetracked, so I'll end it here, I think I've got most of my point across, J-rock beats emo tenfold.
XD

Slow Internet, Loss Of Data And Mike He Dramas!

It amazes me how, I still manage to use all 12GB worth of highspeed downloads in about... 20 or so days.
I think I've actually used up my downloads faster than I did last month, and I was attempting to make an effort NOT to do so...
What has made the whole thing more difficult, is the fact my laptop broke and I lost all songs/pics/files/programs etc. that I've downloaded in the past 6/7 months.
So now I begin the slow and painful process of trying to track down everything I want back >.<;; Luckily enough I have my iPod which is full of 90% of my recent songs so at least I have
a list of what I lost, not like I can get them OFF my iPod onto my computer...
I really despise iTunes for that, it makes ones life so terribly difficult.

You know, I really don't understand, This month I downloaded probably a 1/4's worth of music that I did last month, and only watched, umm, Devil Beside You, Love Contract and Bull Fighting plus a few random eps of dramas that are still coming out when last month I watched, Hana Kimi, Why Why Love, majority of Sweet Relationship, half of Coffee Prince, 1/3 of Romantic Princess, a bunch of video clips and.... I think that was it, actually, I'm not sure if I watched Devil Beside You this month or last...
But the point is! I did waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy more last month than this and my downloads ran out faster... Noooo!

Ahhh, enough about my whinging, lets talk about Mike He dramas! Now by far, Mike He is my favourite actor, not only is he UBER hot, he has great acting skills and I like the characters he plays and the story lines.
Observing the four dramas of his I've seen, (make that five kinda, seen a bit of Express Boy,) they all are very cliche. In ALL of them he plays the bad boy, well, there's nothing TOO wrong with that ^.^ but it would be nice to see an attempt at a different character.

In ALL of them, there is the "good" guy, who wants to be with her,

  • Why Why Love - The Brother.
  • Devil Beside You - Basketball Coach.
  • Bull Fighting - Her Bodygaurd.
  • Love Contract - Nerdy Friend.
  • Express Boy - The Cop.
Now fair enough, it wouldn't be as interesting without a love conflict, and with most, there is a girl trying to get in the way too, I still can't help but think, cliche!
Another observation of mine, the background of the characters he p
lays are all the same or similar, for instance, WWL, DBY and BF all have Mike He playing the " rebellious rich kid", none of them he lives with his mother, just his father.
In all five, he has a rough personality because of some terrible thing in his past that "insert leading female here" heals through her simple, caring personality.
Out of those five, LC and EB are the most different, reasons being.
LC for instance, Ariel has her own personal issues to deal with, if anything, she has the same amount as him, so it's a healing experience for both of them.
EB on the other hand, (from what I've seen anyway), from the begining, he already likes her, there isn't the whole, hate becomes love thing. And also, I find the storyline is more unusual than the others, it doesn't revolve so closely around the love aspect of the drama.
Though I must add, I've only seen four eps so it's not really the best judgement.
Rating the five of them in the order of which I liked most -

DBY comes in first place! I love, love, love it. Lots of interesting charater developments, many shocks and sudden conflicts. And though I hate to say it, most favourite part of the whole series, after they have sex in the morning, and how he leans over and says "so how many times did we do it last night' XD I rof'd so hard, plus, how sexy was it!!!! Mmmm, Mike He in only underwear.
Gah! I'm such a pervert >.<;;

Ok! Second place is WWL, the first one I saw him in too! I thought the beginning was a bit slow, but once it got into it twas great. Ending was spectacular, I wanted to cry so hard when I thought he was dead. Once again with this though, the character development was great and the conflicts kept it going :3

*Drumroll!* Coming in third place, why don't you take a guess??

Guessed yet?

WRONG! Jks XD

Ok, enough of my silliness, third place is BF, now, this came close to second, but... It lacked something that the other two had. Not quite so in depth I thought, though still a good storyline. Plus, I thought their feelings were to... Quick? Like, they had a little thing going, went on one date and she couldn't let go of him. Fair enough, the short time spent together was quite, ugh, meaningful. Not quite the right word I was looking for but you get the idea.

Fourth Yo~! LC. I wasn't overly fussed on it, like I enjoyed it enough, but it was just laking something. And I
thought a) How his mother dies and his reaction was really stupid, especially how he went form being so angsty and upset, to being perfectly fine. You don't react like that when someone you love dies, just thought that that was a bit of a let down. And b) THE ENDING!!!! The way she recovered so randomly and they had the two not finished things, ughhh, I dunno, I just think it wasn't a good way to end it and it made quite a dramatic drama kinda lame.

Fifth! Wanna guess? XD EB I haven't gotten into so much, fair enough I've only seen four eps, but comparing to the other four, four eps in I was alot more into it. Lets wait and see for the final verdict, I don't wanna make any judgements until the very end :3

Wow, the three most similar dramas are the ones I like best >.<;; What's that got to say about me :P On another note, I have to consider Seventh Grade (which I REALLY want to see but no where has it) and umm, Say Yes Enterprise... Think that's it. :3 I'd also like to say something about his three main co-stars Rainie Yang, Hebe and Ariel Lin.
Rainie is my favourite by far, something about her makes her so likable!
Hebe I also really like and would like to see more of her.
Ariel on the other hand... I dunno, maybe it
was coz I didn't really like LC, but I didn't like her acting as much, though that's all I've seen of her so I won't be to rash on my judgements.

*Yawn* And I think that's all I
have to say for now! XD Be prepared for another useless blog from me very soon ^.^

Btw, thought I'd add some eye candy in for your enjoyment!

Welcome All, Lets Start With A Bit Of Controversy :3

Hello all :3
The names LouiseMaree.
I've long been thinking about the rapidly uprising sub-culture, em
o.
What IS emo really, music, fashion, a state of mind...?

That I am never quite sure of, and this is coming from someone, who used to fit right into that category (hides with shame).
I find myself often sitting back and observing the progression and actions of those people.
What was once a group of "alternatives" with aching hearts and complete pussies, are now into hardcore and scene kid style fashion.

They claim to be so different, but in the process they are like everyone else.
The music isn't individual, the style definitely isn't, and they all have the same ho
rrible elitist stupid attitudes.
Mind you, if they were stuck up and had good reason for it, th
at would be fine in my eyes, but they have nothing going for them.
They spend all their time hanging out in stupid cliques,
most can't hold down a job, nor a good one at that, they are stupid trend followers without the tiniest bit of uniqueness to them.
Not only that, their "individual" style is now quite fashionable for those "preps" which they hate so much.
Another extremely annoying thing about them all is, they are so dam
n superficial!
Honestly, they have no idea of the real world, they cry if their hair gets messed up or over a little argument they had with their parents.

And I'd say 99% of anything that happens to them is legitimately bad, they bought it upon themselves by their own stupid actions.
Also, for most of them, it's just some stupid craze that they'll get over in a year or two.
And really, look at the guys...

What's attractive about a wimpy little guy, who looks like a girl and is probably gay...
Or a girl with WAY too much make up, hair like every other second girl and a stupid septum ring hanging out her nose.
And now, I must admit, that there are SOME pretty emos girls and hot emo guys, but they tend to be models or they spend their life on their looks.

Most emos tend to be fat, ugly, annoying girls, who overly edit their photos in an attempt to look decent and scrawny boys who only look half decent because their gross face is hidden behind a thick layer of black hair...
And here are a couple of photo's to prove my point :3

Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to look good, you will still fail.

Not another stupid emo pose...

Is that a boy or a girl???

Point proven about gross scrawny guys?

Another rank emo couple...
Tranny slut much?

And I'm sure everyone has seen their good share of disgusting emos too ^^
